They are spot on, whats the state of the Macintosh? Dead? Not one word from Jobs on Macs, None! How many years ago was PowerMac/Macpro designed? How many years of the same old mini case? Mobile device company:rolleyes: Sad indeed when the CEO doesnt mention a Mac once? Pretty ugly when the best they do is a new..................phone weeeeeeeeeeeeee. Computer side is a 2nd class division, a afterthought while Jobs is running after pod, pad and phone holders. Everyone can be hunched over and looking into their little devices hoping to connect to a Net like Jobs was trying:D, what fun! Bring back Enthusiasm for the Mac Apple!

The problem is not the size of the pic. I have large pic assigned to contact. The issue is a window pops up when someone calls which is right in the middle with the name of the person calling. I have seen other people's phone and it is on the top of the screen not a pop up window (in the middle of screen) which covers the picture.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll just stick with Netbeans for now. It works pretty well, but has it's quirks. I just like to play with new toys if they have promise.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I was jailbroken on 4.2.1 and I updated to 4.3 and restored using the jailbroken backup. I will do a clean restore and I will report back.

Try changing your router channel to 11 or 1..
What mode is your router on? Is it on B or G or mixed? If it's on G i'd suggest going to mixed..
Also do you happen to have a third party memory card in it? If you do, take it out.. I've had problems with that..

I'm about to jump on the bandwagon and start a development project. What I'm looking for is a simple development platform that will help me to simply develop the project and use it on as a web application, iphone and android app, and ideally to have a desktop version for pc and mac. File storage would be through Amazon.
I'm willing to tackle a project but I think its best to start with the right tools. Any tips?

Ok, So im playing around with Perl. Ive made a quick little proggie. No problem. My question is , is there anyway to make an alias that will start the terminal then start the program for me?

That one day of not freezing on first boot was luck i guess.
Since then it's been something new everyday. Yesterday it hung on the blue screen on first boot and it worked on second boot. Today it gave me a kernal panic on first boot with a bunch of text on screen, second time it worked..

I use a Western Digital MyBook HD (USB) to record audio from Pro Tools and it works perfectly fine. I could suggest a firewire 800 HD though to free up those USB ports (or get a USB hub).

there is a separate magsafe board connecting to the logic board. I have done repairs where battery/power issue was the magsafe board, and repairs where battery/power issues was a faulty logic board. 95% of the time it is the logic board. Unless you can find someone who can check each component (I would try the magsafe board first since it's much faster) you might be stuck with a desktop notebook.

I have and Iphone 3g, with the latest ipsw installed by Itunes 10 (should be 4.2.1)
In order for me to downgrade I have to put my phone into DFU mode which has been difficult, but through Google I found a forum post that said redsnow will put your phone into DFU mode, you just need the exact ipsw to start the redsnow process...
I have downloaded 4.2.1 but redsnow doesn't recognize it, any idea what could be wrong?

Can you use a proxy (http://proxy.org/) to bypass the security warning? Or sometimes if you enter the website from Google it may work or eliminating the http:// from the URL you can trick the security code. All depends how good the system is.

I had a few question wondering if you guys would know anything about Apple engravings on their products. First off I wanted to get "And I'm a PC" engraved on my ipad but was wondering if they would do it? I just loaded XP on my mac laptop, without bootcamp. Most everything seems fine so far except I can't create any wireless network. And there are several devices under device manager that are in error. Is this the reason for running bootcamp? Also, do I need to install bootcamp and then re-install xp, or can I load bootcamp without reloading XP? (I assume the prior).

I have a 2nd Gen iTouch (MB version)that I jailbroke to 4.1.
It drains the battery quickly after a recharge. I reset the network setting and this does help but it is annoying after every charge.
What version is best jailbreak for this issue? I believe I have my blogs saved from 3.12.
