So I haven't bought anything in a while, and have been thinking recently what could I buy to improve my life/work etc. I have the products listed in my signature; iPhone 3G, MBP 13", 16GB iPod Touch, Second Gen Nano...
I'm just looking for your opinions as to what you think would be a good buy atm. Like an accessory or something similar. Budget would probably be up to 80-100 at most.
Thanks.

Per specifics, I can't help.
But, I can suggest their website forums that have tons of info, as I recently got an interface that is Digidesign and uses the current PTLE 8.
try digidesign/avid's faqs or forums. I am positive similar ?'s have been posted, maybe even sticked over there.
Also, gearslutz is a GREAT forum with tons of specific info.
Best of luck:)

You have to pay a VIP fee of $6,875 every year...
I'm kidding!...:D I'm using FakeCarrier and change it to Sprint.
Don't know if Sprint is going to have the iPhone... I don't think they will. I suggest you change to AT&T or Verizon..

Possibly a "Thank You" or "Nice Tip" or "Nice Answer" button for the forum posts.
I've seen this on other forums, and it's nice to give props without adding to the length of a thread.
It would be great, if it would cut down on the number of ancient threads being resurrected years later, just to say thanks! I've never understood the sense of doing that, since you're not adding anything of value to the thread. Sadly, I think that even with a "thank you" button, they'd still resurrect threads to post "thank you" or "this really worked", etc.

Is the following basically another way to write an infinite loop?
for ( i=0; i<20; i++)
i--;
and
for (i=0; i<20; i*20)
printf("modicication...");
It looks like it to me, because the body decrements the 0 to -1, then the third expression increments -1 back to 0, and this keeps going on and on.
The second example will also continue to print also, because i=0, and 0*anything is always 0. Both infinite loops?

The guides category needs some better organization IMO.
We should decide if we want almost everything in sub-categories or most of it just in the guide category itself. I think having it half-half just confuses users and makes articles harder to find.
We should use the distinction between subcategories and the actual category to distinguish between more "important" and less "important" guides.
In an attempt to make the Mac Beginner's Guide more prominent I added a sub-category but I don't know whether this would be the best way to go about it, so before I do anything else I think we should talk about how we want to organize this category.
So feel free to delete the subcategory I created until we figure something out.

I'm trying to do this optibay hard drive thing and I've got everything I need so now I'm just looking for a time this weekend to do it.
One question I still have though is, will a time machine backup from this current hard drive, once 'restored' onto the newly installed hard drive, be exactly the same? Is it that easy?
Also, the optibay hard drive: Is it going to be displayed as additional 'device' in the finder? Or can you/would you RAID them or what? (not entirely sure I'm using correct terminology) Is it just strictly a storage drive? (Would be fine by me but I"m trying to get an idea of what options I have.)
Could someone please list the processes for doing the installation as far as what needs to happen so that I get an exact 'clone' of what I currently have, but on my new hard drives? Thanks

If your resume and cover letter go to Apple Corporate in Cupertino CA and the formatted version of your resume goes to a recruiter (who invites you to the recruiting seminar), would it be possible for Apple Corporate to screen your resume and cover letter before the recruiter? Then (theoretically) the application would go to a store Hiring Manager who will then call you in for an interview.

yea unfortunately they dont make docks for the air as there are ports on both sides you have usb power and headphone on one side and the display and other usb on the other. the docks work for mbp's as all ports are on the one side.
+1 for the book arc it is great coupled with a nice monitor and wireless keyboard and mouse your all set.

So a few months ago apple told me that my logic board was kaput and needs to be repaired. I was advised that this would be around $280 dollars.
I have been able to run the computer for a few months now, only by power cord. usually fighting with it to get a green light on my power cord.
Went away for the weekend and came back to no light from the power cord whatsoever. computer wont turn on. i understand that this is normal but can i revive it without going back to apple?

Here's my suggestion -
Riser A
DIMM 1: 4GB
DIMM 2: 2GB
DIMM 3: 1GB
DIMM 4:
RISER B:
DIMM 1: 4GB
DIMM 2: 2GB
DIMM 3: 1GB
DIMM 4:
You can't do that as they have to be installed in pairs.
The optimum configuration is A:4,4,0,0 B:2,2,1,1 as this places more equal amounts of memory on each riser.

i've had some issues with my macbook charging etc.
so far apple have:
-replaced my screen (issue with screen surround dropping down)
-reconnected wireless wires from screen (were not properly connected when screen replaced)
-replaced charger (first power issue solution)
-replaced the battery (still did not solve charging issue)
-agreed to replace logic board & magsafe board next week.
thats 6 trips to the applestore in total to get a properly working macbook!!!
should i just ask for a new macbook? I'm really not convinced of this ones reliability now. Do you think they owe me that much at least?
usually it takes three separate major components (hard drive, LCD, DVD drive, logic board, etc) for them to issue a replacement, and even that is a foggy area. I have heard people saying that they really like apple stuff and want to love this, but it has been a disappointing experience, etc. Some apple stores are more "lax" and customer experience hungry and will go further than others.
as far as not charging goes, what is the status of the battery when you look at it in the system profiler?

So I looked up online videos and was brought to this forum. I'm not a Mac user, but am almost 40 and have been duped a time or two.
I was linked to this website via facebook: link removed
There is a youtube video on that page, which when I clicked on the video it took me to here: link removed
It seems to be too good to be true, and I was hoping video people here would be able to tell me if it's ok, to sign up for that.
Thank you!

I'd agree with the above. If you're not looking to buy another license, i'd recommend using a browser to read and reply to e-mails while on the road. And the advice about switching away from POP is good advice...
