I want to come a few hours before the opening. I'm just wondering near which entrance people will be queuing up before Churchill opens?:confused:

Downgrades are not possible normally. The only way to downgrade is to restore to the base version of the OS you wish to downgrade to (or whatever came with your Mac if you haven't upgraded since you bought it), then update to the desired minor version of that OS. Keep in mind that you can't downgrade to anything older than what your Mac came with.
I'd try Sun Baked's suggestions before mine, though.

Trying this gives me the error...
File alias Volumes:MEDIA:iMovie Projects of <<script>> wasn't found.
Also, it works fine when I use this line...
set project to choose file with prompt "Locate the PROJECTS file path and click OK" default location (path to home folder)
But I can't get it to work with variable with the filepath as text or typing the path directly in.
NOTE: My MEDIA drive is the name of my hard drive not a folder.

is there an internet tv link for this channel? :confused:
http://www.bloomberg.com/tvradio/tv/ then click Launch Video Player. It's a Windows Media stream. With Flip4Mac installed I'm getting the video, but no audio.

I'd like to download the keynote to my HD so I can put it on my iPod touch and not have to stream it if I want to watch it. I have QuickTime Pro, but I can't really find a way to download it in a non-streaming format. How do you download it?

How did you get the ghosting effect? Was it all done in iMovie, or what?
Are the iPods at the end stock footage or did you do that yourself?
Yep all done with my mate iMovie
filming was easy 35 sec of wobbling around in the dark , editing in iMovie was a pain as it will not pick up my widescreen settings - so had to import as 4:3 and add the ghosting effect then exported to another project with the iPod advert in with the music and end bit in
chucked in some more effect - fast/slow reverse ect...
and export to iPod and done:D
i do not expect to win anything with this entry , but this is just a taster for me to do better
Just waiting for the weekend now and some good weather, so i can shoot the next one:cool:

I recently purchased my first Mac (17" iMac 1.8 GHz G5--hasn't arrived yet), and I'm trying to get acquainted to the Mac way of doing things. The Terminal command line really intrigues me, and I'd like to learn how to use it.
I was noticing on this Expose' demo from Ambrosia software (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/news/upcoming/images/spx2_panther_expose.mov) a Terminal window that displays the CPU usage as well as the resources consumed by each open process.
Anyone know the command sequence used to get this info?
Any other useful terminal commands would be helpful.
Thanks!

Does anyone have a really nice presentation built with Apple's Keynote that I can show to my Microsoft Powerpoint advocates? I really would like a presentation that would blow powerpoint out of the water. I looked on apple's site for a demo but found a "How to use" video. If anyone has one please post or email me the keynote file.
Thanks!

And yet you say the Republicans embrace him??

2 weeks isn't that long to wait :) Be careful who you order from online as there are a lot of cheats out there. Try doing a google search for ipad 2 real time inventory. You will probably have your best bet at target if you aren't going to buy online. Your other bet would be to go to an apple store at like 7 am and wait on a Wednesday. Good luck.
+1 - two weeks is a drop in the bucket compared to what it was.

I just spent the past hour making a PHP RSS feed for my site and I just thought I'd boast. Ok I know its nothing terribly advanced with PHP, but I've only been using it for a month or so, and its quite a big achievement for me (firstly its the first loop i've coded, secondly its the first time I've had to trick the browser into thinking the file is something its not). I also taught myself how incredibly useful the UNIX_TIMESTAMP and date() functions are... wow!
So now when I add a new song/picture to my website it automatically creates a new entry in my RSS SQL table, as well as adding itself to my news table, and of course in the relevant section. Not that difficult but its great the amount of time it should save me - especially if all of my site was done using html pages. Thats 3 lots of information I'd have to copy and paste in!
I think I need to make myself a widget to update all this information from my dashboard!
Oh yeah this is all to do with putting off getting my site to look normal in Windows Internet Explorer :p

If you really want an infinite loop, there are a few better ways to write it:
while(1)
{
// your loop stuff
}
or
for( ; ; )
{
// your loop stuff
}
"Better" in the sense that anyone reading the code can see immediately that the loop is intended to go forever. Your first example works as an infinite loop but at first glance it looks more like a loop that's intended to work 20 times except for the decrement, which will cause programmers to say "OK, is that a bug? Or was that intentional?" And your second example likewise makes people stop and think "OK, wait, what's that doing there? How does that work?" which is not what you want when writing good clean code.

hey
I have had my mac book pro since early 2010 and have been beginning to notice that when I use it and it is plugged in to the charger cord the left side of the bottom of the computer gets REALLY REALLY hot! It cools off if I unplug the unit, but sometimes I want to work plugged in. Plus I am just not getting the battery life I used to get. On average I have about 4 hours of battery.... Used to get 7+. Any thoughts?
