Macs start region free but lock to the first region you use.
You can, however, change it up to five times.

Just out out of curiosity, can't you queue the files?
http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/mac/transmit-ftp-client-for-mac-os-x-gets-updated-to-version-4/530
Downloading ten files at 150KB/s is as fast as downloading one file after another at 1.5MB/s.

I have Fusion 3 (via bootcamp) and housemate has Parallels (don't know what version). He wasn't happy with Parallels, but It also has gone through a number of revisions since. All the reviews say they are pretty much neck and neck for performance. It's just a choice of preference in the interface.

Here's the background. I have a .swf file that I grabbed from Yahoo. The swf is a Yahoo avatar that a coworker is using in our fantasy football league. As a fun joke, I wanted to take his avatar and animate it.
The .swf is currently animated, but all it does it blink and move it's eyes. What is the best way to re-animate that?
I'm guessing that I'm going to have to physically draw the avatar frame by frame similar to a flipbook to get the desired animation. Then I would scan that into Illustrator and trace it; then import that into Flash. Is that the only way or is there another way that might be easier?

There's a very interesting write-up about the history of the Apple key here (http://www.roughlydrafted.com/2007/08/11/how-apple-keyboards-lost-a-logo-and-windows-pcs-gained-one/) which explains pretty much everything :)

Nothing is listed, even though a device is plugged in.
Try another device. repeat system profiler check.
I had a similiar problem with an external hard drive. Would not register, then plugged in an apple mouse to same USB port, it registered.
My solution was a reboot, then the system recognized the external drive.

So THAT's what was causing all the rapid-fire "Opening..." messages in IE on my work computer! That was driving me crazy the last couple of days...
I'm glad to see that an amenable solution has been found. (I'm not a Facebook user, so I'm indifferent to the buttons myself.)

There is http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewArtist?artistId=217005 but it only has EPs.
Apart from that, I see your point, but then I don't know many kids who own credit cards.

Well first off, I don't think there has been much of a performance difference from the i5 and i7 on the 13". There is some definite gain going from the 13" to the 15" though. So if you were considering the 13" I would urge to go the i5 route. You could save that money for a SSD or RAM or something like that.
What about screen size? Have you used a 13" or a 15" screen? Some people find that the 13" is just too small...so maybe a 15" with HiRes or something for you if that's the case.
Hopefully I'm not confusing you even more as to what to get.

Does anyone else's CPU and fans go full load when Spotlight is indexing with Lion? Or when installing XCode?
I wish that GFXstatus worked in Lion, i have a feeling that my ATi card is stuck on.
I don't have these problems with 10.6. I feel this new Dev2 has fixed most of the appearance bugs that I noticed, but it introduced a LOT of performance bugs.
GFXstatus works for the most part. Spotlight indexing was fixed for me after a reboot. I had a suspicion my 11 day time to index was wrong :-)
Edited to say, GFXstatus works on late 2010 MBP for me, not early 2011.

Hi
When I place a Photoshop EPS which is about 8MB into my document, the document becomes extremely slow to refresh (not a problem I have experienced before with a relatively small file). The only way I can work on this document is to put it on "typical display". I have checked whether the file has become embedded but this is not the case.
Also when I package the document, this comes up: "traversing spreads for embedded images" (also I have not had this message before).
Many thanks in advance.
Yes, a PSD file would work much smoother. Starting with CS3 i believe, they made the transition between the programs much more fluid. Does CS3 have bridge? I can't quite remember.

I'm not a writer by any means, so bear with me... I'll be as brief as I can... ;)
Around 1991, I became Interested in computers. I started taking some non-credit courses at the local community college (PCs, Windows).. :( I wanted to learn everything I could about computers.
After several courses, I learned that I could use computers for FREE at the local library...
so, one saturday, I went to the library.... with a floppy disk in hand.... to save my work on... (I did know that much about them. I had to save my work).
I walked into the library, and the staff pointed out where they were, so I walked over towards them.... they had 2-3 windows PCs there.... like I used in school....
However, they had another one that "caught" my eye.... It was a little thing.... small black/white screen, 9" in diameter.... all in one.... the entire thing was one piece. I thought that was sort of cool... (I later learned it was a Macintosh SE30)....
It had Word 4.0 on it... and a few kids games.....
I didnt really know much about what I was doing...
I was using Word to create a database of names and phone numbers! Sort of funny today when I think back about this. I was typing names and numbers in a document, and saving to the floppy disk.
after 1/2 hour on this computer, I was hooked..... I spent several more saturdays coming back to this thing... creating my "database"...
But I quickly discovered that "I had to have a Mac of my own".
so I bought my first one...
and the rest as they say is History.. ;)
It's almost and 4 Mac models later, many upgrades, and OS versions from System 7 to Jaguar 10.2.3, I'm STILL using Mac's!
I would NOT have it any other way.. ;)

I don't think iOS does share the same Foundation framework as Mac OS X. iOS seems to lack NSConnection and NSDistantObject. It does have NSPort, but only NSMachPort, not NSSocketPort.
